Step 2: Receive iMac

I got my awesome new 20″ iMac. I’ve had since about Noon (Central Standard Time) today and it’s been an absolute blast. I feel in love. I’ve been playing around with tons of features. The setup was really simple and seamless. I turned it on, went through the user setup, transferred music and pictures, and now I’m jamming away while making a podcast episode for this blog. The Apple Remote is awesome. I was surprised how useful that little piece of plastic is. All of the movies I had ripped for my iPod actually look really good on this screen.

Anyways, more on this tomorrow. I totally recommend getting one!

Tomorrow is Liberation Day

Tomorrow is the delivery day of my refurbished 20″ iMac! I will finally be 100% free from Windows! I’ll post soon on everything that I experience.

I can’t wait for my 20″ glossy widescreen display powered by an ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory . It is gorgeous. Oh and the built in iSight camera that I can start video chatting with my family and friends on instantly! It’ll be great!

Step 1: Ordered my Mac

I’ve finally, finally, finally did it! I ordered my iMac! I’ve been saving for about a year now and I’ve reached the amount needed. I decided to get a 20″ Refurbished iMac with at 2.4GHz Inter Core 2 Duo. You can read more specs on the left.

For about two years I’ve been learning about how Macs are so much better than Windows. And all of the Windows lovers out there will probably say “Macs don’t have video games” or “None of that is true” but I beg to differ. First of all the video game issue. I can run windows on a separate partition of my hard drive and run all the video games I want to (that’s why i have the 256mb video card). And an update to those windows fans: EA Games makes all of their new PC games on Mac as well. This is really going to start the rolling ball of Mac as a new video game platform.

Secondly, all of it is true. It does just work. I’ve used the Macs at the stores and a couple of my friends and they do “just work.” If you don’t know what I am talking about you really should check out this link: Why you’ll love a Mac. And yes this is probably one of the last things I will do on my Windows PC. I am off to the Mac platform, for more than one reason. I hope journal all the details about my new experiences on my Mac.
